Invoxa documentation
Invoices that satisfy the tax office, not just the customer.
Before you start
- WordPress 6.0 or newer, WooCommerce 7.0 or newer, PHP 8.1 or newer
- Your business tax details and the numbering series your accountant expects
- Outbound HTTPS if you use EU VAT ID validation, which checks against the VIES service
What it does not do
- It is not accounting software. It issues correct invoices and exports them; your accountant still files the return.
- It does not transmit to a national e-invoicing system. Where a country mandates clearance or an accredited provider — Saudi ZATCA, the UAE — that is a country-specific product.
- It cannot renumber invoices that have already been issued. Set the series before the first one.
What is in the download
A WordPress plugin ZIP that generates invoices from WooCommerce orders with country-aware rules, sequential numbering, credit notes, and structured output beside the PDF.
GPL source. Everything runs on your own server.
Installing it
WooCommerce first, on PHP 8.1 or newer. Then Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, activate, and paste the licence key from your purchase email.
Set the numbering series before the first invoice is issued. Changing a series once it has started is the one configuration change that leaves a permanent mark on your records.
Getting it right for your accountant
Show them a sample invoice for each country you sell into, before you switch it on for customers. They will spot a missing field faster than any test you can write.
Turn on VAT ID validation for EU B2B rather than trusting what customers type. An invalid number that is treated as valid is a reverse-charge invoice you may have to reissue at your own cost.
Use the bulk export at the end of each period rather than forwarding invoices individually. It is the feature accountants notice.
Licence, updates and support

Common questions
Is a WooCommerce order confirmation not already an invoice?
No. It is a receipt for a transaction. Once you sell across borders, each country wants its own fields, its own numbering and increasingly its own structured file, and a PDF that merely looks right does not satisfy any of them.
What does audit-safe numbering mean?
Sequential with no gaps, independent of the WooCommerce order number, and not re-usable. Order numbers skip — failed payments, drafts, test orders — and a skipped invoice number is a question you have to answer.
Does it validate EU VAT numbers?
Yes, for EU B2B, along with reverse charge handling. Validation requires outbound HTTPS to reach the VIES service.
How are refunds handled?
As credit notes and corrections, not by editing the original invoice. An invoice that has been issued should not change; that is most of what audit-safety means.
How is this different from the country-specific plugins?
Invoxa is the general case: correct invoices for many destinations. FatooraPro and FatooraAE implement one country’s mandated e-invoicing regime each, with the certificates and clearance that go with it.
