## Before you start

- •An Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 server of your own, with Node.js 20 or newer and PostgreSQL
- •Shell access and someone comfortable deploying a Node application
- •A domain and an SSL certificate
- •Door hardware with an API, if you want access control tied to membership status
A Node application on an Ubuntu server of your own, with PostgreSQL. No per-member charge, however many members you sign up.

## What it does not do

- —It is not a hosted platform. You run it on your own Ubuntu server, which is why there is no per-member fee.
- —It does not come with door hardware, and which lock you own decides how much integration work there is.
- —It does not take card payments on its own. Invoicing and payment tracking are here; the gateway is your arrangement.
- —It is not accounting software.

## What is in the download

The full source of the application: members and plans, desks and rooms, bookings, invoicing, door access integration and the reporting behind them.
It runs on your own Ubuntu server. No per-member fee, and no component that stops working if we do.

## Installing it

Provision Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 with Node.js 20 or newer and PostgreSQL. Put it behind a reverse proxy with a certificate before members ever see it.
Create the database, configure the environment, run the migrations, and start the application under a process manager so it survives a reboot.
Create the first administrator, then build the floor: desks and rooms before members and plans.

## Running a space on it

Model the building as it is, not as the plan says. A desk that is never sold because it is next to the printer should be marked that way, or the floor view stops being trusted.
Decide the meeting-room credit policy before you sign anybody up. Changing credits mid-contract is a conversation with every member at once.
Connect door access last, after memberships and renewals are behaving. A door that locks out a paying member is the one failure a coworking space cannot absorb quietly.

## Common questions

### How much does it cost at three hundred members?

The same as at three. That is the point: every hosted coworking platform takes a monthly fee that grows with your membership, and this is the same job bought once.

### Do I need a developer to install it?

Someone comfortable with a Node application, PostgreSQL and a reverse proxy on Ubuntu. It is a straightforward deployment, but it is a deployment.

### Does the door access actually work, or is it a status field?

It integrates with door hardware, so a lapsed member stops getting in. Which hardware you have determines the work involved — the integration point is real, the specific lock is yours.

### How are meeting rooms priced?

With credits and overage rules, because that is how coworking actually sells rooms: a number included in the plan, and a rate beyond it.

### Can I get my data out?

It is your PostgreSQL database on your server. Getting data out is a matter of running a query, not of asking a vendor.
