ShowIf documentation
Show the right thing to the right visitor, without writing a condition.
Before you start
- WordPress 6.0 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer
- WooCommerce 7.0 or newer for the cart and product conditions; the rest works without it
- Nothing else. The point of the plugin is that the rules live in the admin instead of in a child theme
What it does not do
- It does not create memberships, subscriptions or paywalls. It reads the state your membership plugin already sets and decides what to show.
- It does not encrypt or protect files. Hidden content is not rendered, which covers page output, not a direct link to an upload.
- The cart and product conditions need WooCommerce. Everything else works without it.
What is in the download
One WordPress plugin ZIP. There is no external service and no account: conditions are evaluated on your server as the page is built.
GPL source, so a condition your business needs and nobody else does can be added by a developer.
Installing it
Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, activate, and paste the licence key from your purchase email. If you want the cart conditions, install WooCommerce first.
Installing it changes nothing on its own — no rule exists until you write one.
Writing rules you can still read next year
Name every rule after what it does for the business, not after its condition. ‘Wholesale prices, trade customers only’ is findable a year later; ‘Rule 7’ is not.
Prefer one rule with two conditions over two rules that overlap. Overlapping rules are how a site ends up showing the loyalty banner to everybody at the weekend.
Check a rule while logged out, in a private window. The most common support question about conditional display is somebody testing as an administrator, who passes every condition.

Common questions
Do I need WooCommerce?
Only for the shop conditions — cart total, quantity, specific products in the basket. Role, login state, schedule, device and location all work on plain WordPress.
Does it work with block themes?
Yes. Conditions apply to blocks, widgets, shortcodes and WooCommerce hooks, which covers both a block theme and a classic one.
Can I hide prices from visitors who are not logged in?
Yes — that is one of the most common uses, along with hiding wholesale prices from retail customers. It is a role condition on the price output.
Will the hidden content still be in the page source?
No. The condition is evaluated on the server, so content a visitor is not entitled to is not rendered rather than hidden with CSS.
What happens to my rules if I deactivate the plugin?
The rules are stored, not applied — everything becomes visible again and nothing is deleted. Reactivating restores them.
