## Before you start

- •WordPress 6.0 or newer, WooCommerce 7.0 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer
- •A payment gateway that supports refunds — an unfilled group has to give the money back
- •Products you can afford to discount as the group grows

## What it does not do

- —It is not a marketplace or a deals site. Group deals run on your own products, in your own shop.
- —It does not bring the buyers. The discount is a reason for your customers to share a link, not a source of traffic.
- —Automatic refunds depend on your gateway supporting them. Test one before you run a deal.

## What is in the download

A WordPress plugin ZIP that adds group deals to WooCommerce. Payments, refunds and orders all stay inside your shop and your gateway.

## Installing it

WooCommerce first, with refunds working on your gateway — test one before you run a deal. Then Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, activate, and paste the licence key.
Nothing changes for existing products until you start a group deal on one.

## Running a deal that fills

Set the minimum group size at a number you would be pleased with, not an ambitious one. A deal that fails to fill refunds everybody and teaches your customers that these deals do not complete.
Keep the deadline short. A fortnight gives people time to forget; three or four days gives them a reason to send the link today.
Make the first tier reachable. The discount only markets the product if the group actually crosses a tier, and the first crossing is what gets shared.

## Common questions

### What happens if the group does not fill?

Refunds are issued automatically. That rule is what makes people willing to join early, and it has to be enforced by the software rather than remembered by a person.

### Do I need a separate product for a group deal?

No. It runs on the products you already have, so the deal and the ordinary listing do not drift apart.

### Where does my customer list end up?

In your own WooCommerce installation. There is no external group-buying service holding your customers between you and them.

### How does the price actually fall?

Through tiers you set: a price at ten buyers, a lower one at twenty-five, and so on. Everyone in the group lands on the tier the group reaches, which is why sharing the link is in each buyer’s own interest.

### Is it HPOS-compatible?

Yes.
