ConfigMate puts the options on the product page as swatches and buttons with their own prices, applies your rules about what can go with what, and shows the total changing as the customer chooses. The price is recalculated server-side at add-to-cart, so what reaches the order is what you charge.

The configurator itself is free on wordpress.org, listed as Webkoding ConfigMate. This download is both halves: that plugin, plus the ConfigMate Pro add-on that adds the conditional rules — a thread colour that only appears once a monogram is added. Why this exists

What ConfigMate does not do

  • It does not create WooCommerce variations. Options are priced on the product rather than enumerated as separate products — that is the whole design.
  • It does not produce a manufacturing file, a cut list or a CAD export. The chosen options travel with the order line as text.
  • The conditional rules are the Pro add-on. The free configurator on wordpress.org shows options without them.

Why not just use variations?

Because three frame sizes, three colours, three groupsets and four extras is not a variable product, it is several hundred combinations somebody has to create by hand. ConfigMate prices the options instead of enumerating the products.

The configurator is free on wordpress.org — what am I paying for?

Two things. The Pro add-on, which adds the conditional rules — a thread colour that only appears once a monogram is chosen. And a year of updates, a year of email support and the 30-day guarantee. The free plugin is included in this download; nothing in it is held back waiting for a key.

Can the browser be tricked into a lower price?

No. The live total is a convenience; the price is recalculated on the server at add-to-cart, so what reaches the order is what your configuration says it should be.

Do the chosen options appear on the order and the invoice?

Yes — they travel with the order line, which is what makes the order usable by whoever has to actually build the thing.

Is it HPOS-compatible?

Yes. Configuration lives on the product rather than in a separate table, so high-performance order storage is not a special case.
