## How it is calculated

Abandonment rate = (carts created − orders completed) ÷ carts created.
The revenue figure assumes abandoned carts are worth your average order value; in practice they are often larger.

### What is a typical cart abandonment rate?

Most published studies put the average around 70%. Unexpected costs at checkout — shipping, tax, fees — are the reason shoppers give most often.

### How much of it can be recovered?
