Etsy charges US$0.20 for every further unit sold from a listing, so in practice a download pays the listing fee on every sale.

## How it is calculated

Fees = listing fee + price × (6.5% + 0.48% + 4% + Offsite Ads) + £0.20.
On a low-priced file the fixed parts — the listing fee and the processing fee — take a large share, which is why many digital sellers price above $5 or sell bundles.

## Questions

### Are Etsy fees different for digital products?

No — the same listing, transaction and processing fees apply. The difference is that there is no shipping to spread them over, so on a cheap file they are a bigger share of the price.

### Who handles VAT on digital sales to the UK and EU?

Etsy collects and pays VAT on digital sales to buyers in the UK and EU as the marketplace. It is added to what the buyer pays and does not come out of your price.

### What is the cheapest price worth listing at?

Work it backwards here: below a few dollars the fixed fees take a quarter or more of the price. Bundling several files into one listing is the usual answer.
