Calcular el IVA en Costa Rica
La tasa general del IVA en Costa Rica es del 13 %, con tarifas reducidas del 4 %, 2 % y 1 %.
Con la calculadora de arriba agregas el IVA a un precio neto o lo quitas de un precio final: ₡10 000 sin IVA son ₡11 300 con IVA. Para quitarlo, divide el precio final entre 1,13.

Worked example
At 13%, a price of CRC 10,000.00 before VAT becomes CRC 11,300.00, of which CRC 1,300.00 is VAT.
The other way round, CRC 10,000.00 including VAT is CRC 8,849.56 before it — divide by 1.13 rather than taking 13% off, which is the usual mistake.

Charging Costa Rica VAT in WooCommerce
Under WooCommerce → Settings → Tax → Standard rates, add a row with the country code CR and a rate of 13, leaving the state and postcode empty. Reduced rates go in their own tax class, each with a CR row, and the products that qualify are assigned to it.
If one product you sell is really two things taxed at different rates — a meal deal with food and drink in it, a gift box with a book — a single tax class cannot be right for it. SplitVAT divides that product's price across the tax classes you already have, so the order shows each part at its own rate. It is our plugin, and you only need it if your products are like that.
