La tasa general del IVA en México es del 16 %; los alimentos básicos y las medicinas tienen tasa 0 %.
Con la calculadora de arriba agregas el IVA a un precio neto o lo quitas de un precio final: $1,000 MXN sin IVA son $1,160 MXN con IVA. Para quitarlo, divide el precio final entre 1,16.

Worked example
At 16%, a price of MX$1,000.00 before VAT becomes MX$1,160.00, of which MX$160.00 is VAT.
The other way round, MX$1,000.00 including VAT is MX$862.07 before it — divide by 1.16 rather than taking 16% off, which is the usual mistake.
