Questions

What is a good sell-through rate?

For a monthly view, many retailers aim for 40–80%. Consistently low sell-through on a product is a reason to reorder less of it, or discount it before it ages.

Is it the same as inventory turnover?

Related, but not the same. Sell-through looks at units from one delivery over one period; turnover looks at value across a year.

What should I do with low sell-through stock?

Bundle it with a fast seller, discount it while it still has value, or stop reordering. Holding it costs money every month.

If you run WooCommerce

StockPulse tracks each WooCommerce product’s sales against its stock, so slow sell-through shows up before it becomes a write-off. StockPulse is our plugin; the calculator above works the same whether you use it or not.
