How it is calculated

Sale total = price + postage charged.

Fees = category rate × sale total + per-order fee + 0.35% regulatory fee + international fee where it applies.

Profit = sale total − fees − item cost − postage paid.

Do private sellers pay these fees?

No. UK private sellers pay no final value fee, no per-order fee and no regulatory fee on most items — see the private seller calculator.

eBay UK’s currency conversion charge rises from 2.5% to 2.75% on 1 December 2026, for sales converted from another currency.

Where the figures come from

Fee schedule checked on 30 October 2026 against eBay UK’s business selling fees page (updated 30 September 2026). Platforms change fees with notice, and some (VAT on fees, promotions, account-level pricing) vary by seller — confirm the current figures in your own account before you rely on a result.
