How it is calculated

With Shopify Payments: plan price + sales × card rate + orders × fixed fee per transaction.

With another provider: plan price + that provider’s fees + Shopify’s extra transaction fee for the plan.

Plan prices are the monthly-billing prices; yearly billing is cheaper. Apps, themes and domains are not included.

Questions

Which Shopify plan is cheapest?

At low sales, Basic. As sales grow, the lower card rate on Grow or Advanced can outweigh the higher monthly price — change the plan above with your own figures to see where it crosses.

Why does Shopify charge extra for other payment providers?

Shopify adds a transaction fee when you use a provider other than Shopify Payments. It falls as the plan rises, from 2% on Basic to 0.6% on Advanced.

Are apps included?

No. Paid apps are billed separately and are often a significant part of a store’s real monthly cost.
